⚠️ Safety Alert — Missing C29 Capacitor on iCharger 456 DUO, 458 DUO, and 4512 DUO

Some units of these three models left the factory without an essential component on the circuit board: a capacitor referenced C29. Without it, the board cannot smooth current spikes that occur during transitions in Cycle mode (alternating charge/discharge). The result: repeated overvoltages can damage components, potentially leading to a short circuit or completely burning out the board.

The alert signal to watch for: a "soft reset" of the device just before or during a transition in Cycle mode. If this happens to you, it's a sign that the board is under stress and you need to act quickly.

What to do immediately:

1. Stop using Cycle mode until you have checked your device.
2. If you absolutely must continue to use it in the meantime, set a 1-minute delay in the Cycle mode settings — this reduces the power spike causing the problem, but it is only a temporary solution.

To check your device:

1. Completely disconnect the power supply and open the casing.
2. Locate the C29 component's position on the board.
3. If it is empty, the missing capacitor must be installed before reusing the device in Cycle mode.

After the hardware repair, a firmware update to version v1.19 is necessary to stabilize the device's behavior during cycles. If you don't have a Windows PC, there are pre-loaded micro SD cards with the update, to be inserted directly into the charger.

If you are not comfortable with soldering, it is better to have this repair done by someone experienced and choose this service rather than risking further damage to the board.

How it works:

1. Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email indicating the address to send the charger(s) to. Please remember to print your invoice and include it in the package.

2. Send it to us and let us know the tracking number; once received, work will begin.

3. Once the modification is complete, it will be sent back to you and the order will be marked as fulfilled.
If, for any reason, this is not feasible (e.g., due to unrelated damage), you will be refunded less shipping costs, and the device will be returned to you.

We cannot and will not be responsible for loss or damage during shipping to/from us. Since many items sent for repair are quite expensive, it is strongly recommended not to waive insurance fees.

Please note that this service will void your manufacturer's warranty, as the charger will be opened.
