We offer a firmware update service for your iChargers. Send us your iCharger and we’ll do it for you!

⚠️ Safety alert: missing C29 capacitor on iCharger 456 DUO, 458 DUO and 4512 DUO

Some units of these three models left the factory without an essential component on the circuit board: a capacitor referenced C29. Without it, the board cannot smooth the current spikes that occur during transitions in Cycle mode (alternating charge/discharge). As a result, repeated voltage surges can damage components, even causing a short circuit or completely burning out the board.

The warning sign to watch for: a “soft reset” of the device just before or during a Cycle mode transition. If this happens to you, it means the board is under stress and you need to act quickly.

What to do right away:

1. Stop using Cycle mode until you have checked your device.
2. If you absolutely must keep using it in the meantime, set a 1-minute delay in the Cycle mode settings. This reduces the power spike responsible for the problem, as a temporary solution only.

If you are not comfortable with soldering, it is better to have this repair done by an experienced person and choose this service rather than risk damaging the board further.

How does it work?

1. Once your order is placed, you will receive an email telling you which address to send the charger(s) to. Don’t forget to print your invoice and include it in the package.
2. Send it to us and let us know the tracking number. Once we receive it, the work begins.
3. Once the modification is complete, the unit will be shipped back to you and the order will be marked as completed.

If, for any reason, the work cannot be carried out (for example, due to unrelated damage), you will be refunded minus the shipping costs, and the device will be returned to you.

Note:
We cannot and will not be held responsible for loss or damage during shipping to/from us. Since many items sent for repair are quite expensive, we strongly recommend that you do not waive the insurance fees.

Please note that this service voids your manufacturer’s warranty, as the charger will be opened.
